- Warm Water: For soaking your feet.
- Foot Soak: Epsom salts, essential oils, or a commercial foot soak product.
- Foot Scrub: Sugar or salt (for exfoliation).
- Cuticle Oil: Coconut oil, olive oil, or a specialized cuticle oil.
- Nail Polish Remover: If you have existing nail polish on your toes.
- Nail Tools: Nail clippers, nail file, cuticle pusher, and buffer.
- Moisturizer: Foot cream or lotion.
- Nail Polish: If you want to apply nail polish.
Steps:
- Remove Nail Polish (if applicable): If you have nail polish on, use a nail polish remover to clean your nails.
- Soak Your Feet: Fill a basin with warm water and add a foot soak. Soak your feet for about 10-15 minutes to soften the skin and nails.
- Exfoliate: Use a foot scrub to exfoliate your feet, paying special attention to rough areas like your heels. Gently massage in circular motions. Rinse.
- Trim and Shape Nails: Carefully trim your toenails straight across to avoid ingrown nails. Use a nail file to shape them as desired.
- Push Back Cuticles: Gently push back your cuticles using a cuticle pusher. Avoid cutting them, as they serve as protection for your nail beds.
- Moisturize: Apply a generous amount of moisturizer or foot cream, and massage it into your feet and calves.
- Polish (optional): If you want to apply nail polish, apply a base coat first, followed by your chosen nail polish color. Let it dry, and then apply a top coat for shine and longevity.
- Final Steps: Once your polish is dry, you can wash your feet to remove any lotion.
