Ingredients
  

For the Lobster Mushroom Dish :

  • 1 pound fresh lobster mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup white wine (optional)
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or coconut cream for a vegan option)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (omit for vegan version)
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

For Serving (Optional) :

  • Crusty bread or pasta

Instructions
 

Prepare the Mushrooms :

  • Clean the lobster mushrooms thoroughly by brushing off dirt or debris. Avoid washing with water to prevent sogginess. Slice into bite-sized pieces.

Sauté the Base :

  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the garlic and onion, sautéing until fragrant and translucent, about 3 minutes.

Cook the Mushrooms :

  • Add the sliced lobster mushrooms to the skillet and sauté for 5-7 minutes until they release their moisture and begin to brown.
  • Season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and thyme.

Deglaze and Simmer :

  • Deglaze the skillet with white wine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. Let it simmer for 2 minutes to reduce slightly.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese (if using). Simmer gently for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Serve :

  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.

Notes

  • Ensure lobster mushrooms are fresh and firm; avoid any with soft or mushy spots.
  • For a vegan version, substitute butter with vegan butter and use coconut cream instead of heavy cream.
