- 1 cup all-purpose flour (heat-treated)
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup chocolate chips (or mix-ins of choice)
Step 1: Heat-Treat the Flour
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Spread the flour evenly on a baking sheet.
Bake for 5 minutes to kill any bacteria. Let it cool completely before using.
Step 2: Make the Dough
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the milk, vanilla extract, and salt, and mix until well combined.
Gradually add the heat-treated flour and stir until a smooth dough forms.
Fold in the chocolate chips or other mix-ins.

- The dough will firm up in the fridge; let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before eating.
- For a softer dough, add an extra tablespoon of milk.
