- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 cup pepperoni slices (optional)
- 1/4 cup black olives, sliced (optional)
- 1/4 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
- 1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)
Preheat oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare the chicken: Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
Sear the chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chicken for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
Assemble the toppings: Place the seared chicken breasts in a baking dish. Spoon marinara sauce over each piece and sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
Add toppings: Add pepperoni, black olives, and mushrooms or any preferred pizza toppings.
Bake the chicken: Transfer the baking dish to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature of 165°F or 75°C).
Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven, let rest for 5 minutes, and garnish with fresh basil. Serve warm.
