Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions
 

  • In a small saucepan, combine raisins, brown sugar, and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  • Stir in apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. Let the mixture cook for about 5 minutes.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, dissolve cornstarch in a tablespoon of water and add it to the saucepan.
  • Continue simmering until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in butter and lemon juice for added richness.
  • Serve warm over ham slices or as a side sauce.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
  • Reheat before serving for the best flavor.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar.
