- 1 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
In a small saucepan, combine raisins, brown sugar, and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
Stir in apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. Let the mixture cook for about 5 minutes.
If you prefer a thicker sauce, dissolve cornstarch in a tablespoon of water and add it to the saucepan.
Continue simmering until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3-5 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in butter and lemon juice for added richness.
Serve warm over ham slices or as a side sauce.
