Over the years, the Mojito evolved into a beloved cocktail, becoming especially popular during the Prohibition era in the United States. Today, it remains a timeless classic that continues to delight cocktail enthusiasts worldwide.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz (60 ml) white rum
  • 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 6-8 fresh mint leaves
  • Club soda (to top)
  • Crushed ice
  • Lime slices and mint sprigs (for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • In a glass or cocktail shaker, muddle the mint leaves and sugar together until the mint releases its aroma and the sugar begins to dissolve.
  • Add the fresh lime juice and continue to muddle gently to combine the flavors.
  • Fill the glass or shaker with crushed ice.
  • Pour in the white rum and give it a good stir to mix all the ingredients together.
  • Strain the mixture into a tall glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Top up the glass with club soda, leaving some space at the top.
  • Garnish with a sprig of mint and a slice of lime.
  • Give the Mojito a gentle stir and serve immediately.
