Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz (340g) fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) water
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) orange juice
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Rinse the cranberries and remove any soft or damaged ones.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, water, and orange juice.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries begin to pop (about 10 minutes).
  • Reduce the heat to low and simmer for another 10 minutes, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens.
  • Stir in the orange zest and vanilla extract, if using.
  • Remove from heat and let the jam cool to room temperature.
  • Transfer the jam to sterilized jars and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • For a smoother jam, use an immersion blender to puree the mixture before adding the orange zest.
  • Adjust the sugar to taste if you prefer a less sweet jam.
  • This recipe can be canned using proper sterilization methods for longer storage.
