Ingredients

For the Burger Patties

  • 1½ pounds ground beef (80/20 recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

For Serving

  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese (optional)
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Red onion slices
  • Pickle slices
  • Ketchup
  • Mustard
  • Mayonnaise

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, and parsley.
  • Mix gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the burgers tender.
  • Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties about ¾-inch thick.
  • Press a small indentation into the center of each patty with your thumb to help prevent puffing during cooking.
  • Place the patties in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between them.
  • Cook for 5–6 minutes.
  • Flip the patties and cook for another 5–6 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for well-done ground beef.
  • If making cheeseburgers, place a slice of cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking.
  • Remove the burgers from the air fryer and let them rest for 3 minutes.
  • Toast the hamburger buns if desired, assemble with your favorite toppings, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Ground beef with an 80/20 fat ratio provides the juiciest burgers.
  • Avoid pressing down on the patties while cooking.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket.
  • Use a meat thermometer for accurate doneness.
  • Rest the burgers before serving to retain their juices.
  • Cooking time may vary depending on patty thickness.
  • Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat burgers in the air fryer for 2–3 minutes.
