Ingredients
  

For the Scones:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • ½ cup cold butter (cubed)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • ½ cup milk or cream
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tablespoons lemon juice

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray.
  • In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  • Add cold butter and rub into the flour until crumbly.
  • Stir in lemon zest.
  • In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, and lemon juice.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients to form a soft dough.
  • Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently knead.
  • Shape into a circle and cut into wedges.
  • Place on baking tray and bake for 15–18 minutes until golden.
  • Cool slightly and drizzle with lemon glaze.

  • Use cold butter for flaky texture.
