  • 1 cup Amish friendship starter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease a baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix starter, oil, milk, eggs, and vanilla.
  • In another bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture and stir until combined.
  • Fold in optional add-ins if desired.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  • Mix topping sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over batter.
  • Bake for 45–50 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool before slicing and serving.
