Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each, skin-on)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill or fresh chopped dill
  • Lemon slices and fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the marinade. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, and dill.
  • Marinate the salmon. Place salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let sit for at least 20 minutes.
  • Preheat the grill. Heat to medium-high and lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.
  • Grill the salmon. Place the salmon skin-side down on the grill. Cook for 5–6 minutes, then carefully flip and grill for another 4–5 minutes until it flakes easily.
  • Add finishing touches. Remove from the grill and let rest for a minute. Garnish with lemon slices and parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Always preheat the grill before placing the salmon to prevent sticking.
  • Keep the skin on—it helps hold the fish together while cooking.
  • Avoid over-flipping; one flip is enough for perfect texture.
  • Use fresh lemon juice for a vibrant citrus flavor.
  • Rest the salmon briefly before serving to keep it juicy.
