Ingredients
  

  • 2 large apples (peeled, cored, and sliced)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  • In a bowl, toss sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread them evenly in the dish.
  • In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, milk, melted butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Pour the batter evenly over the apple mixture.
  • Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a spoon inserted comes out clean.
  • Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
