Ingredients
  

For the Apple Filling

  • 6 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

For the Crisp Topping

  • ¾ cup rolled oats
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8-inch baking dish.
  • Toss apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch.
  • Spread apple mixture evenly in the baking dish.
  • Mix oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt in a bowl.
  • Cut in butter until the mixture forms coarse crumbs.
  • Sprinkle topping evenly over apples.
  • Bake for 35–40 minutes or until golden brown and bubbling.
  • Enjoy warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Use a mix of apple varieties for rich flavor.
  • Add chopped pecans for a nutty crunch.
  • Reduce sugar if apples are very sweet.
  • Replace cornstarch with flour if needed.
