Shami Kabab is a traditional dish made from minced meat and lentils. The mixture is cooked with spices and shaped into patties. These patties are fried until lightly crisp. Ingredients
  

  • 500 g minced meat (chicken or mutton)
  • ½ cup split chickpeas (chana dal)
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1-inch ginger piece
  • 2 green chilies
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons coriander leaves
  • Oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Wash and soak chana dal for 30 minutes.
  • Add minced meat and chana dal to a pot.
  • Add onion, garlic, ginger, and spices.
  • Add a little water and cook until soft.
  • Cook until water dries.
  • Cool the mixture.
  • Grind into a smooth paste.
  • Add coriander leaves and egg.
  • Shape into patties.
  • Shallow fry until golden.

  • Use fresh minced meat.
  • Do not add too much water.
  • Grind mixture smoothly.
  • Chill before shaping.
  • Fry on medium heat.
  • Use fresh spices.
  • Add egg for binding.
  • Store refrigerated.
