Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional for sweetness)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill or parsley (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • Pat dry the salmon fillets with paper towels and place them skin-side down on the baking sheet.
  • Make the glaze: In a small bowl, mix Dijon mustard, melted butter, lemon juice, garlic, and honey (if using).
  • Brush the Dijon mixture generously over each salmon fillet.
  • Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  • Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  • Garnish with fresh dill or parsley and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Use wild-caught salmon for richer flavor and better texture.
  • Don’t overbake — salmon continues cooking slightly after removing from the oven.
  • Add a thin breadcrumb topping for extra crunch.
  • For a creamier glaze, mix a little Greek yogurt into the Dijon sauce.
  • Fresh herbs like tarragon or chives make a wonderful garnish.
