Ingredients
  

  • 1 French baguette, sliced
  • 4 ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar or glaze
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • Optional: shredded mozzarella or Parmesan cheese

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Toast the Bread
    Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place baguette slices on a baking sheet. Brush with olive oil and toast for 7–10 minutes until golden and crisp.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Tomato Topping
    In a bowl, mix diced tomatoes, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, and chopped basil. Let the mixture sit for 10–15 minutes to let the flavours blend.
  • Step 3: Assemble the Bruschetta
    Spoon the tomato mixture over each toasted baguette slice. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar or glaze.
  • Step 4: Serve Immediately
    Serve warm or at room temperature. Top with cheese if desired, and enjoy this Italian classic.

  • Great as a party starter or paired with soup or salad.
