Ingredients
  

For the Banana Bars:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs, sour cream, and vanilla extract.
  • Stir in mashed bananas until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool completely before frosting.
  • To make the frosting, beat cream cheese and butter together until smooth.
  • Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing until fluffy.
  • Spread frosting over cooled banana bars and slice into squares.
