  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup milk (any kind)
  • 1 shot (1 oz) espresso or ¼ cup strong brewed coffee
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Banana Mixture:

  • In a small saucepan, combine the mashed banana, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Heat on low until warm and fragrant, about 2 minutes.

Add Milk:

  • Pour in the milk and whisk continuously until hot and frothy, about 3–4 minutes. Do not boil.

Blend:

  • For a smoother texture, pour the mixture into a blender and blend for 20 seconds until creamy.

Pour and Combine:

  • Pour the banana milk mixture into a mug. Add the shot of espresso and stir gently.

Garnish and Serve:

  • Top with whipped cream, a sprinkle of cinnamon, or crushed walnuts for an extra touch of flavor.

Notes

  • Use a very ripe banana for natural sweetness and strong flavor.
  • For a dairy-free version, use almond, oat, or coconut milk.
  • Adjust sweetness with more or less brown sugar to your taste.
  • Blend thoroughly for a smooth, café-style texture.
  • Serve immediately for the best flavor and froth.
