- 3 ripe bananas, sliced
- 2 cup whole milk
- ½ cup sugar
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp butter
- ½ cup heavy cream (optional, for topping)
- 1 box vanilla wafers
Step 1: Make the Custard
In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat.
In a separate bowl, whisk together sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolks.
Slowly pour the warm milk into the mixture, stirring constantly.
Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook until thickened.
Remove from heat, add vanilla extract and butter, and mix well.
Step 2: Layer the Pudding
In a dish, place a layer of vanilla wafers.Add a layer of banana slices on top.
Pour a portion of the custard over the bananas.
Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used.
Step 3: Chill and Serve
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours for the best flavor.
Top with whipped cream before serving, if desired.
