Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled
  • ½ cup blueberries
  • ½ cup plain or vanilla yogurt
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon honey, optional
  • ½ cup ice
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, optional

Instructions

  • Wash the strawberries and blueberries thoroughly. Remove the strawberry stems and cut larger strawberries into halves.
  • Add the milk to the blender first. Follow with yogurt, banana, strawberries, blueberries, honey if using, vanilla extract, and ice.
  • Blend on high speed for approximately 45–60 seconds, or until the smoothie becomes completely smooth and creamy.
  • If the smoothie is too thick, add a small amount of milk. If it is too thin, add a little more frozen fruit or ice.
  • Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness if necessary. If the fruit is already very ripe and sweet, additional honey may not be needed.
  • Pour the smoothie into chilled glasses and serve immediately.
  • For an attractive presentation, garnish with a strawberry, a few blueberries, or a small banana slice.

Notes

  • Fresh or frozen fruit: Both work well, although frozen fruit creates a colder, thicker smoothie.
  • Banana: A ripe banana naturally sweetens the drink and provides creaminess.
  • Yogurt: Plain yogurt keeps the smoothie less sweet, while vanilla yogurt adds extra sweetness.
  • Milk: Dairy milk, almond milk, oat milk, soy milk, or coconut milk can be used.
  • Sweetener: Honey is optional and can be omitted when using sweet fruit.
  • Ice: Reduce the ice if using mostly frozen fruit.
  • Consistency: Adjust the milk gradually to achieve your preferred thickness.
  • Serving: Smoothies are best consumed shortly after blending.
