Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnish: chopped parsley or green onions

Instructions

  • Preheat oven or grill:
    Oven: 375°F (190°C)
    Grill: Medium heat
  • Season the pork chops: Mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Rub evenly over both sides of the pork chops.
  • Sear the chops (optional but recommended): Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear pork chops for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Apply barbecue sauce: Brush a generous amount of barbecue sauce over each chop.
  • Cook the chops:
Oven method: Place in a baking dish, cover with foil, and bake for 15–20 minutes. Remove foil and brush with extra sauce, then bake another 5 minutes.
Grill method: Grill for 5–7 minutes per side, brushing with sauce frequently, until internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  • Serve hot: Garnish with parsley or green onions if desired. Pair with mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, or a fresh salad.

Notes

  • Bone-in pork chops stay juicier than boneless.
  • Marinate chops in BBQ sauce for 30 minutes to enhance flavor.
  • For a smoky flavor, use a grill or add smoked paprika to the seasoning.
  • Don’t overcook — pork chops can dry out quickly.
  • Leftovers make excellent sandwiches or wraps.
