- 500 g beef sirloin or ribeye, cut into bite-sized cubes
- Wooden or metal skewers
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons mirin
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon sake (optional)
If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 20 minutes.
Thread beef cubes evenly onto skewers.
Season lightly with salt and pepper.
Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
Grill skewers for 2–3 minutes per side, until nicely charred and cooked to desired doneness.
Brush with sauce during the final minute if using.
Remove from heat, garnish, and serve hot.
