- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, cooking until softened.
Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
Stir in chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
Pour in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, and beans. Stir to combine.
