Cuisine Mexican
- 1 lb Mahi Mahi fillets
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp hot sauce (optional)
- 2 cup shredded cabbage (green or purple)
- 1/2 cup diced mango or pineapple (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 8 small corn or flour tortillas
- Lime wedges for serving
Prepare the fish: In a small bowl, mix chili powder, garlic powder, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Rub the seasoning onto both sides of the Mahi Mahi fillets. Drizzle with lime juice.
Cook the fish: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the fish for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and flaky. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before flaking with a fork.
Make the sauce: In a bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, and hot sauce (if using). Set aside.
Prepare the slaw: In another bowl, combine shredded cabbage, diced mango or pineapple, chopped cilantro, and sliced red onion. Toss with a squeeze of lime juice.
Warm the tortillas: Heat tortillas in a dry skillet or directly over a flame for a few seconds on each side until warm and slightly charred.
Assemble the tacos: Place flaked Mahi Mahi onto each tortilla. Top with slaw, avocado slices, and a drizzle of sauce. Serve with lime wedges.
