  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder

For the Burger Sauce

  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp pickle relish
  • ½ tsp paprika

For Assembly

  • 4 large burger buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • Pickle slices
  • 1 tbsp butter for toasting buns

Instructions

  • Combine mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, and paprika in a bowl. Mix until smooth and refrigerate.
  • Divide the beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side until desired doneness.
  • Place cheddar and American cheese slices on the patties during the final minute of cooking and allow them to melt.
  • Butter the burger buns lightly and toast until golden brown.
  • Spread sauce on both bun halves. Add lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, cheesy patties, and top bun.
  • Serve immediately with fries, onion rings, or a fresh salad.

Notes

  • Use 80/20 beef for maximum juiciness.
  • Avoid overworking the meat while forming patties.
  • Chill patties before cooking for better shape retention.
  • Freshly grated cheese melts more evenly.
  • Toasted buns prevent sogginess.
  • Add bacon for extra richness.
  • Adjust sauce ingredients to personal taste.
  • Serve immediately for the best texture
