  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 2 cups milk
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional for gravy)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Cook the sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and crumbly.
  • Make the gravy: Sprinkle flour over the cooked sausage and stir for about 1 minute. Slowly add milk while stirring until the mixture thickens into gravy. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Prepare biscuit layer: Spread the biscuit pieces evenly across the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Add gravy: Pour the sausage gravy evenly over the biscuits.
  • Mix eggs: In a bowl, whisk the eggs with paprika and a pinch of salt.
  • Pour eggs: Pour the egg mixture over the casserole.
  • Add cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
