Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups cooked black beans
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 egg (or flax egg for vegan option)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin

Instructions
 

  • Place black beans in a bowl and mash until mostly smooth.
  • Add breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, and parsley. Mix well.
  • Form mixture into round patties.
  • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Cook patties for 4–5 minutes on each side until browned.
  • Serve in burger buns or with salad.

  • Use cooked beans.
  • Drain beans well.
  • Mash thoroughly.
  • Chill mixture if soft.
  • Add spices to taste.
  • Use fresh herbs.
  • Cook evenly.
