- 4 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar (divided)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Pour melted butter into a 9x13-inch baking dish.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, milk, and vanilla. Pour batter evenly over the butter — do not stir.
In another bowl, mix blueberries, lemon juice, and remaining sugar. Spoon the blueberry mixture evenly over the batter. Again, do not mix.
Bake for 40–45 minutes until the top is golden brown and the berries are bubbling.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
