- 1  medium cabbage (chopped into wedges or shredded)
 - 4 cups  water
 - 1  tsp  salt
 - ½  tsp  black pepper
 - 1  tbsp  butter or olive oil (optional)
 - ½  tsp  garlic powder (optional)
 - ½  tsp  chili flakes (optional, for spice)
 
 
Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage and rinse thoroughly.
Cut the cabbage into wedges or shred it, depending on your preference.
In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add salt.
Add the cabbage and let it boil for 7-10 minutes until tender.
Drain the excess water and transfer the cabbage to a serving bowl.
Add butter, olive oil, or seasonings as desired.
Mix well and serve warm as a side dish.
 
For a richer flavor, cook the cabbage in vegetable or chicken broth instead of water.
