Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium cabbage (chopped into wedges or shredded)
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp butter or olive oil (optional)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional, for spice)

Instructions
 

  • Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage and rinse thoroughly.
  • Cut the cabbage into wedges or shred it, depending on your preference.
  • In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add salt.
  • Add the cabbage and let it boil for 7-10 minutes until tender.
  • Drain the excess water and transfer the cabbage to a serving bowl.
  • Add butter, olive oil, or seasonings as desired.
  • Mix well and serve warm as a side dish.

Notes

For a richer flavor, cook the cabbage in vegetable or chicken broth instead of water.
