Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 pound bulk Italian sausage
  • 3 cups chopped onion
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green bell peppers, chopped
  • 2 cans (28 ounces each) diced tomatoes
  • 2 cans (15 ounces each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 ounces) chili beans
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

  • In a large stockpot, cook ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat until fully browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add onions, garlic, and bell peppers. Cook for 5–7 minutes until softened.
  • Stir in tomatoes, beans, tomato paste, broth, and all seasonings.
  • Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 1½ to 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Ladle into bowls and top with cheese, sour cream, and your favorite garnishes.
