For the Carne Asada:
- 1 ½ pounds flank or skirt steak
- ¼ cup lime juice
- ¼ cup orange juice
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
For the Fries & Toppings:
- 1 large bag frozen French fries (or 4 large potatoes, cut into fries)
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 cup pico de gallo
- 1 avocado, mashed (or prepared guacamole)
- ½ cup sour cream
- ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
- Lime wedges for serving
In a bowl, mix lime juice, orange juice, olive oil, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
Marinate steak for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours).
Cook fries according to package instructions or fry fresh-cut potatoes until crispy.
Grill or pan-sear steak over high heat for 4–5 minutes per side.
Let steak rest for 10 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.
Sprinkle shredded cheese over fries and melt under broiler for 1–2 minutes.
