Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chunks

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cream Butter and Sugars:
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add Eggs and Vanilla:
Mix in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, oats, baking soda, and salt.
  • Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in Chocolate Chunks:
Stir in the chocolate chunks evenly.
  • Scoop and Bake:
Scoop the dough into 2-tablespoon portions and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Cool:
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a more authentic taste, use high-quality chocolate chunks and ensure the butter is at room temperature for better mixing.
