Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 12 oz smoked sausage (sliced)
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp butter or oil
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • Heat butter or oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.
  • Add sliced sausage and cook until lightly browned.
  • Stir in chopped onion and garlic; sauté until fragrant and soft.
  • Pour in chicken broth and bring to a gentle boil.
  • Add rice, salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Stir well.
  • Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for about 15 minutes.
  • Add shredded chicken and mix gently.
  • Cover again and cook another 10–15 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  • Fluff the rice and garnish with parsley before serving.
