Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Chicken of the Woods mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves (or ½ teaspoon dried thyme)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (optional for frying)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Mushrooms :

  • Gently clean the Chicken of the Woods mushrooms using a damp cloth to remove dirt. Slice into bite-sized pieces.

Heat the Pan :

  • In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat.

Cook the Garlic :

  • Add minced garlic to the pan and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Cook the Mushrooms :

  • Add the mushrooms to the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and tender.

Season :

  • Sprinkle with thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir well to coat.

Serve :

  • Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with lemon wedges. Enjoy while warm.

Notes

  • Always ensure Chicken of the Woods is properly identified and fresh before cooking.
  • Avoid eating raw Chicken of the Woods as it can cause stomach discomfort.
  • If the mushroom is older or tougher, blanch it in boiling water for 2-3 minutes before cooking.
