- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat the Oven:Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add Egg and Vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the chocolate chips. Shape the Dough: Scoop the dough into tablespoon-sized balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked. Cool and Serve: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
