  • 1 cup whole milk

For the Buttercream Frosting

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Green food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line cupcake pans with paper liners.
    In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
    Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk until fully combined.
  • Fill cupcake liners about two-thirds full.
    Bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
    Cool completely before decorating.
  • Beat butter until creamy.
    Gradually add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
    Mix until light and fluffy.
  • Transfer frosting to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
    Pipe frosting in circular layers from bottom to top, forming a tree shape.
  • Place an edible star on top of each tree.
    Decorate with candy ornaments and sprinkles.Serve immediately or refrigerate until needed.
