- 1 lb elbow macaroni
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 cups milk
- 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup butter, melted (for topping)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook pasta until al dente, then drain.
In a saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour. Cook for 1–2 minutes.
Gradually add milk, whisking until smooth and thickened.
Stir in cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
Combine pasta with cheese sauce and transfer to a baking dish.
Mix breadcrumbs with melted butter. Sprinkle on top.
Bake for 20 minutes until golden and bubbly. Serve hot.
