Ingredients
  

  • 3–4 pounds corned beef brisket with spice packet
  • 1 medium cabbage (cut into wedges)
  • 5 medium potatoes (peeled and halved)
  • 4 carrots (cut into pieces)
  • 1 onion (quartered)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 8 cups water
  • 2 bay leaves

Instructions
 

  • Rinse the corned beef under cold water to remove excess salt.
  • Place corned beef in a large pot and cover with water.
  • Add spice packet, garlic, bay leaves, and pepper.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 3 hours.
  • Add potatoes and carrots and cook for 20 minutes.
  • Add cabbage wedges and cook for another 15–20 minutes.
  • Remove beef and let rest for 10 minutes.
