  • Cut the corn in half crosswise.
  • Stand each half upright and carefully slice down through the core into quarters using a sharp, heavy knife.
  • Apply pressure slowly for a clean, safe cut

Pro tip:

  • Microwave corn for 30 seconds before cutting to soften slightly.

Instructions

  • Season the Corn
In a large bowl, mix olive oil with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Brush this flavourful mixture over the corn quarters evenly.
  • Cook the Corn Ribs
Air Fryer MethodPreheat the air fryer to 190°C (375°F). Place the corn ribs in a single layer and cook for 10–12 minutes. Flip halfway for even crisping
  • Oven MethodPreheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Place the corn ribs in a single layer and roast for 20–25 minutes, flipping once.
  • Garnish and Serve
Once golden brown and curled, remove from the heat. Squeeze fresh lime juice over them. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro and grated cheese, if desired. Serve immediately for best texture.

Notes

  • Use a heavy, sharp knife for safe cutting.
  • Don’t overcrowd the cooking tray or air fryer basket.
  • Add toppings like lime juice, cheese, or hot sauce for extra flavour.
  • Serve hot for the best texture and taste.
