Cosmopolitan

Ingredients
- 1½ ounces vodka
- 1 ounce cranberry juice
- ½ ounce triple sec or another orange liqueur
- ½ ounce fresh lime juice
- Ice
- Orange peel, for garnish
- Lime wheel, optional
Instructions
- Place a martini or coupe glass in the freezer for a few minutes, or fill it with ice and cold water while preparing the cocktail.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the vodka, cranberry juice, triple sec, and freshly squeezed lime juice.
- Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for approximately 10–15 seconds. This thoroughly chills the cocktail and creates a smooth, well-integrated drink.
- Discard the ice from the chilled glass if necessary. Strain the cocktail through the shaker's strainer into the chilled glass.
- Cut a thin strip of orange peel. Gently twist it over the surface of the cocktail to release its aromatic oils, then place it on the rim or drop it into the drink.
- Serve immediately while the Cosmopolitan is cold and fresh.

- Fresh lime: Freshly squeezed lime juice gives the cocktail a much brighter flavor than bottled juice.
- Cranberry juice: Use cranberry juice according to your preferred sweetness and tartness.
- Vodka: A smooth, neutral vodka works especially well.
