- 1 pound fresh crab meat (lump or imitation)
- 1/2 cup lime juice (about 4-5 limes)
- 1/4 cup lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
- 1 medium red onion, finely diced
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 cucumber, peeled and diced
- 1 jalapeño, finely chopped (optional for heat)
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 avocado, diced (for garnish)
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Prepare the ingredients: Dice the onion, cucumber, jalapeño, and tomatoes. Chop the cilantro.
Marinate the crab: In a large bowl, combine the crab meat with lime and lemon juice. Let it marinate for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
Add vegetables: After marinating, gently stir in the diced onion, tomatoes, cucumber, jalapeño (if using), and cilantro.
Season: Add salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust lime juice if desired.
Serve: Garnish with diced avocado and serve chilled with tortilla chips or lettuce cups.
