Ingredients
  

For the Cupcakes

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

For the Cream Filling

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Frosting

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake tray with cupcake liners.
  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients and milk alternately into the butter mixture until smooth.
  • Fill cupcake liners two-thirds full and bake for 18–20 minutes. Let cupcakes cool completely.
  • Whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  • Cut a small hole in the center of each cupcake and pipe cream filling inside.
  • Top cupcakes with frosting and decorate with sprinkles or chocolate shavings.
