Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups pearl onions, peeled
  • 2 cups frozen green peas
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Place pearl onions in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside.
  • Boil the peas for 2 to 3 minutes. Drain and reserve.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  • Gradually whisk in milk and cream. Cook until thick and smooth.
  • Add salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  • Fold in the onions and peas. Simmer for 3 to 4 minutes until heated through.
  • Sprinkle with parsley and serve warm.
