- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cups marinara or pasta sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
In a skillet, cook ground beef and onions until browned; drain excess fat.
Stir in marinara sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; simmer for 2–3 minutes.
Unroll half the crescent dough and press it into the bottom of the baking dish, sealing seams.
Spread ricotta evenly over the dough.
Add a layer of the beef and sauce mixture, then sprinkle mozzarella over the top.
Repeat layers, ending with mozzarella cheese.
Unroll remaining crescent dough and place on top, sealing edges.
Bake for 25–30 minutes until the top is golden brown and cheese is melted.
Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
