Ingredients
  

  • 2 calamari steaks (about 6-8 oz each)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for crispy coating)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Steaks:
    Rinse the calamari steaks under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  • Coat the Steaks (Optional):
    Dredge the steaks in a mixture of flour and breadcrumbs for a crispy finish.
  • Heat the Pan:
    Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Cook the Steaks:
    Add the calamari steaks to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Avoid overcooking, as this can make the steaks rubbery.
  • Add Lemon Juice:
    Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the steaks while still in the pan. Remove from heat.
  • Serve:
    Transfer to a plate, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the calamari steaks in olive oil, garlic, and herbs for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Pair with a side of garlic butter noodles or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
