- 12 mozzarella sticks (cut in half if desired)
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs (beaten)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Prepare mozzarella sticks: Pat dry each stick with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Set up coating stations: Place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, seasoning, salt, and pepper in a third.
Coat each stick: Dip in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs. For extra crunch, repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating once more.
Freeze for 20–30 minutes to help the coating stick during frying.
Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
Fry 3–4 sticks at a time for about 1–2 minutes, or until golden brown.
Drain on paper towels and serve hot with marinara or ketchup.
- Use low-moisture mozzarella to prevent cheese from oozing out during frying.
- Freeze before frying to maintain shape and crispness.
- Replace breadcrumbs with panko for extra crunch.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes as a healthier option.
- Serve immediately for the best cheese pull experience.
