- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp chili seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
Brown the beef: In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
Add remaining ingredients: Stir in kidney beans, diced tomatoes (with juice), tomato sauce, and chili seasoning.
Simmer: Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally to let the flavors meld.
Serve: Spoon into bowls and serve hot. Top with shredded cheese, sour cream, or green onions if desired.
