- 4 slices of bread (sourdough, ciabatta, or any sturdy bread)
- 4 slices of cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or provolone)
- 4 slices of deli meat (optional – ham, turkey, or chicken)
- 2 tbsp butter (softened)
- Optional fillings: sliced tomatoes, spinach, pesto, or mustard
Preheat the panini press: Heat your panini press or a grill pan over medium heat.
Assemble the sandwich: Spread butter on the outside of each bread slice. Layer cheese, meat, and any optional fillings between the slices, ensuring the buttered side faces out.
Grill the panini: Place the sandwich in the preheated panini press. Close the press and grill for 3-5 minutes until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Serve: Remove the panini, let it rest for a minute, then slice and enjoy hot.
