Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup cold butter, cubed
  • ¾ cup milk or buttermilk
  • 1 cup diced cooked ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing tops)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in ham and shredded cheese.
  • Add milk and gently mix until a soft dough forms.
  • Turn dough onto a floured surface and pat to about 1-inch thickness.
  • Cut into rounds and place on the baking tray.
  • Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
