- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup salsa (mild, medium, or hot)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
- 1 tsp taco seasoning (optional)
- Optional Garnish: chopped cilantro, sour cream, avocado slices, lime wedges
Preheat oven: Set oven to 375°F (190°C).
Season the chicken (optional): Sprinkle chicken with taco seasoning on both sides for extra flavor.
Add salsa: Place chicken breasts in a baking dish. Pour salsa evenly over the chicken.
Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25–30 minutes or until chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
Add cheese: Remove foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake uncovered for 5 more minutes until melted.
Serve: Let rest for a few minutes. Serve hot with your favorite sides.
